出口欧洲的软体家具制造商对BS 5852必定有所耳闻，因为它是强制性的阻燃测试要求。

法规依据：

英国家具及家具装饰品的防火规章1988（法规号1324）1989,1993和2010年修订。依据 BS 5852:part 1:1979,和part 2:1982 进行测试。因此出口到英国的软体家具必须满足BS 5852相应的组分阻燃测试。

英国是首个对软体家具的阻燃性能设计标准的国家，因此，对其他欧洲国家以及欧洲标准化委员会日后制定软体家具阻燃标准时有重要的参考意义，所以在后来的其他国家/地区的家具阻燃标准不乏有BS 5852的身影。

适用范围：

■ Group A

1.各种软垫家具包括：餐椅，靠背长椅，垫脚软凳等；儿童家具，床前榻，沙发床，蒲团和其他折叠家具（既可作沙发，也可作床），豆袋，地垫。All types of upholstered seating including chairs, settees, padded stools and ottomans, children’s furniture, foot stools, sofa-beds, futons and other convertibles, bean bags and floor cushions,

2.用于安置婴幼儿的软体家具。Nursery furniture and upholstered items designed to contain a baby or small child

3.成套或自组装的软体室内家具。Domestic upholstered furniture that is supplied in kit form for self-assembly

4.二手家具（1950年后）.Second hand furniture

5.带有软垫的床头板，床尾板和侧板。Upholstered head-boards, footboards and side rails of beds.

■ Group B

1.既可用于户外又适用于室内（家庭和旅行房车）的软体家具。Furniture for use in the open air (garden and outdoor furniture) which is suitable for use in a dwelling (homes and caravans)

2.旅行房车内的软体装饰（非一般机动车或轮船）。Upholstery in caravans (although not vehicles or boats)

3.藤制家具含有软垫物。Cane furniture which includes upholstery

■ Group C

沙发床，床架，床垫和枕头（只针对填料）。Divans, bed-bases, mattresses, pillows, and mattress pads (toppers) FILLING MATERIAL ONLY

■ Group D

放软垫和座垫（只针对填料）。Scatter cushions and seat pads FILLING MATERIAL ONLY

■ Group E

1.家具的永久外罩。Permanent covers for furniture (textiles, coated textiles, leather etc.)

2.家具松散和弹性布。Loose and stretch covers for furniture

3.家具中不可见部分的外罩。Covers for non-visible parts of furniture

■ Group F

家具中的海绵和非海绵填充料。Foam and non-foam filling material for furniture
